Xalmiento web-services was founded as a online service provider focused on the media industry.
We are active two related areas:
- Websites and Apps: We conceptualise and design websites and apps (e.g. iPad-apps) for publishers and other companies in the media industry. News-related sites and apps and classifieds are our specialties. With dozens of projects in Germany and abroad we consider ourselves the market-leading company in this business for the German-speaking area.
- Newsroom Management: With Desk-Net, our innovative online platform for newsroom management, we offer our clients a tool to better plan stories, handle appointments and co-ordinate staff. Launched in late 2007 publishers such as the Frankfurter Rundschau, Nottingham Evening Post or Main-Post have become Desk-Net users.
Xalmiento employs a staff of about ten specialists in the areas of concept and interaction design, usability, visual design, project management and technical implementation. Out of Hamburg, Germany, we work for international clients.
Xalmiento web-services is managed by its founder, Matthias Kretschmer.
Matthias Kretschmer has comprehensive knowledge of the concept development of newssites and classifieds sites. In addition to that he has extensive project management experience for complex online projects. Almost all of his online projects have either been for publishers or internationally renowned corporations from different industries (e.g. Nokia, Siemens, Stora Enso).
In his prior profession Matthias Kretschmer consulted newspaper companies on online strategies and on how to efficiently organise their newsrooms.
